David Makinson

Physiotherapist and Director

Co-creator, director and leading physiotherapist at The Physio Rooms, David brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to all of his roles.

David has over 16 years of clinical experience, including completing his qualification and Masters in Physiotherapy in the UK. He has worked and travelled extensively in the UK, New Zealand and Australia, settling and starting a family in Perth.

David and Ash established The Physio Rooms Woodvale together in 2018. Since then, David has been a passionate and giving member of the community, who thrives on providing excellent healthcare to all his patients. He has a particular interest in chronic and persistent pain, along with achieving long term goals with patients. More recently, David has found a new passion in his role in training and providing ongoing professional development to other physiotherapists, particularly when it comes to evidence-based practice. This is reflected in the skills of all our staff at The Physio Rooms.

Outside of work, David is an enthusiastic member of the Woodvale Football Club, an avid gardener, and keeps active spending time with his young family.

Liz Dronfield

Physiotherapist

Liz is a dedicated physiotherapist with a passion for helping individuals achieve their health and fitness goals. With a rich background as an elite netball athlete, having represented Western Australia and Australia, Liz brings a unique understanding of sports injuries and athletic performance to her practice.

With over 10 years of gym experience, Liz focuses on exercise based rehabilitation, running both osteoporosis strength classes and clinical exercise Pilates sessions. She is particularly passionate about working with children and athletes, focusing on sports injury rehabilitation and prevention. Liz’s approach is collaborative, working closely with her clients to set and achieve goals, ensuring they become stronger and more resilient than before.

Liz is also skilled in diagnosing and managing vestibular issues and has a keen interest in concussion rehabilitation, offering comprehensive care for those dealing with balance disorders and head injuries. In addition to her extensive physiotherapy and athletic experience, Liz is certified in dry needling, adding another dimension to her comprehensive treatment options.

Brittany Greene

Physiotherapist and APA Level 2
Women’s Health Physiotherapist

Our outstanding physiotherapist, Brittany, brings a wealth of expertise to The Physio Rooms Woodvale. She has completed both APA Level 1 and Level 2 Women’s Health training, providing her with exceptional skills in pelvic health. Brittany is dedicated to supporting women with a variety of issues, including bladder and bowel dysfunction, prolapse, rectus abdominis diastasis, and offering comprehensive pre- and post-natal care.

In addition to her specialisation in women’s health, Brittany holds a degree in Exercise and Sport Science, as well as Cert IV qualifications in Reformer and Matwork Pilates and Massage Therapy. These credentials enable her to deliver thorough assessment, diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation for her patients. She also guides our Clinical Exercise and Osteoporosis classes, reflecting her commitment to holistic patient care.

Outside of her professional life, Brittany enjoys cooking, staying active with friends, and spending quality time with her husband and her wonderful dog, Blackjack, who might occasionally be seen around the clinic. Recently, Brittany has embraced the joys of motherhood and treasures the moments spent with her daughter.

Ashleigh Prestage (ne Dobson)

Physiotherapist and Director

Ash joined David in creating The Physio Rooms Woodvale in 2018, as is now co-director and part-time physiotherapist. Driven by a passion for patient connection and goal achievement, Ash envisioned a space where individuals could receive exceptional care while feeling supported and welcomed from the moment they arrived.

With 14 years of private practice experience, Ash brings a wealth of knowledge across a wide range of conditions. A Clinical Pilates instructor from the start of her career, she is now enthusiastic about utilisng our onsite gym for diverse rehabilitation approaches. Ash is dedicated to addressing every aspect of a person’s well-being in her treatment approach.

Ash has a background in dance, and also enjoys running, cycling, gym and swimming. She is a passionate West Coat Eagles supporter. Above all, Ash enjoy spending time with her family, including her husband, two year old twins and her dog. While her clinical hours are currently limited as she focuses on raising her young children, Ash remains deeply committed to her role and her patients.
